How long does it take to get to Amritsar from Chandigarh?
If you’re renting a Himalayan 410, Interceptor 650, Enfield 500, Xpulse 200 or any other bike from us in Chandigarh, you can be in Amritsar in less than 6 hours, including breaks. If you’re starting from New Delhi on a bike or car, it will take you nearly 4-5 hours to get to Chandigarh and another 5 hours to get to Amritsar. We usually advise our clients to take a train or bus to Chandigarh and then ride to Amritsar.
Where can I stop to eat on my way to Amritsar?
We’re glad you asked. Dozens of eateries dot the GT or Grand Trunk Road, and most serve outstanding food. We recommend stopping at a “Truckers Dhaba” for an authentic food experience. Here are some places we’ve stopped at on our way to Amritsar:

- Sher-e-Punjab dhaba: This is a great place to halt near Jalandhar, which is midway on the road to Amritsar. The Dal fry (kali daal) and Karhi are outstanding.
